One reported dead following ultralight aircraft crash near Campbellsport

Around 8:30 PM, Monday, September 2, 2024, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call from a person saying they saw an ultralight aircraft go down into a field near W1902 Townhall Road, about two miles northeast of Campbellsport.

Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office as well as Campbellsport Fire and Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon finding the aircraft, it was learned the pilot was conscious and alert but bleeding and trapped in the wreckage.

Flight For Life medical helicopter was called to the scene, but as rescue personnel worked to free the man from the wreckage, he passed away.
