Subject in custody after incident with a barricaded person in Waupun. Watertown Street closed off

Law enforcement from Waupun and Dodge County are at a south Watertown Street address in the City of Waupun where a person had reportedly taken some pills and then barricaded themselves in a room.

At one point the person came out of the room and confronted officers while holding a bladed weapon. They then dropped the weapon and retreated back into the room.

The incident started around 5:30 PM. As of 7 PM , negotiations between the person and law enforcement were ongoing.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Officers were assisting at the scene and by taking other calls in the city while Waupun officers are tied up at the south Watertown Street call.

UPDATE: At 7:20, an ambulance was called to the scene to check the person over. This seems to imply the person is in police custody.
