Online Petition Seeks To Keep Gerald Turner In Prison
The mother of a Fond du Lac girl who was killed on Halloween night in Fond du Lac in 1973 is trying to prevent the release from prison of the man who killed her daughter. Lisa Ann French was trick or treating when she stopped at the home of Gerald Turner. Turner was convicted of killing French and leaving her body in a farm field. French’s mother, Maryann Gehring, has begun an online petition hoping to prevent Turner’s release. He is supposed to be released on February 7th. Twice before he was released, but was sent back to prison in 2003 for violating his parole. It was French’s murder that led to the creation of the KFIZ Halloween Party, which promotes safe trick or treating.
