Oshkosh Defense Lose Military Vehicle Bid
Oshkosh Defense has announced they’ve lost a bid to continue making Joint Light Tactical vehicles for the US Army. One of their largest military contracts they’ve held since 2015.
The US Army has given the contract to AM General who won the bid at $8.66 billion dollars to build just shy of 21,000 of the tactical vehicles and almost 10,000 trailers.
That contract runs for five-years with an option for a sixth year.
Oshkosh Defense beat out AM General in 2015 for the project and to date has built nearly 19,000 of the contracted 22,679 units. Oshkosh Defense plans to finish the contract in November.
According to AM Generals website, they have major facilities in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
