Oshkosh Man Arrested After Pursuit, Running Into Field

An Oshkosh man is in custody after leading a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper and several Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a short high speed pursuit and
then a foot pursuit last night.

The incident started around 9:40 PM when a man who violated a restraining order in Oshkosh fled the scene and was last seen southbound on 41.

A trooper saw the driver still heading south, just north of Johnson Street.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop but the suspect continued, accelerating above 80 mph.

Sheriff’s deputies got involved in the pursuit near Hickory, and the suspect stopped his vehicle just south of the 151 bypass and ran east across the northbound
lanes of 41 and into a field.

A county officer attempted to chase the suspect for a short time but lost sight as the suspect entered a grove of trees.

With the help of City of Fond du Lac Police, a perimeter was set up around the field and tracking K9s and a drone from the sheriff’s office were brought in to assist in
finding the man.

At about 10:15 PM, the man gave himself up and came out to waiting officers to be arrested.
