Oshkosh man had front door boobytrapped with gun

A call for a weapons complaint in Oshkosh Wednesday, led authorities to some potentially dangerous activity at a house on Central Street.

Just after 4 PM, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Central Street for a report of a man that was discharging a gun inside the house. When police arrived, the 25-year-old man came outside and was taken into custody without incident, however, it was learned that the man had possibly boobytrapped the front door to set off a gun facing the front door, when the door was opened.

Officers utilized a ladder to access the house through a window and did find the gun set up, however it wasn’t loaded at the time.

In their investigation into the shots fired call, officers found multiple bullet holes in the walls and one was found to leave the house and strike an adjacent house.

A further search revealed child sexual abuse materials found in the suspect’s possession. The man was arrested and charged with
