Oshkosh Police Spoofed In IRS Scam
Oshkosh Police say scammers using the IRS scam spoofed the police department’s phone number for caller ID. An Oshkosh resident contacted police after getting a call in which they were told they owed the IRS $5,800 and a warrant would be issued for their arrest if they didn’t pay. The caller also threatened to have that person’s Bachelor’s degree revoked. Oshkosh Police say their number was spoofed and they don’t call residents on behalf of the IRS.
