Oven Island Becomes Mercury Island This Weekend

Oven Island in Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park will become Mercury Island this weekend for the National Walleye Tournament and Walleye Weekend. Michelle Kilburn Jager of Mercury Marine says this is the 39th year of the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament. She says in addition to the tournament Saturday and Sunday, they will host vendors and have family activities on the Island. Weigh-ins for the tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday afternoon. She says there will be food, tents and refreshments. She says it is a lot of fun for the whole family. She says there will also be demo rides Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
