Overnight death of Saputo worker investigated

Fond du Lac County law enforcement are investigating a death overnight at an area business.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call saying a person was found fatally injured at Saputo, located at N3545 County EE in Alto.

The caller stated the person had appeared to have fallen into a work station. What was undetermined was if the person suffered a medical condition causing them to fall into the area, or if the fall is what caused them to have the fatal episode.

Investigators spent several hours on the scene. Authorities say the official cause of death is still undetermined pending an autopsy but on scene investigation shows it was likely a medical event that occurred while the employee was working. 

Authorities added that no equipment was involved in the man’s injuries.
