Packers Focus Of Fox Lake Public Library Presentation Today

Author Jim Rice will be speaking on the Packers at the Fox Lake Public Library this afternoon at 1 p.m.  After 45 years in Wisconsin, Jim Rice has watched the Green Bay Packers rise from a relic on the frozen tundra to one of the league’s premier franchises once again.  Their victory in Super Bowl XLV coincided with Rice’s retirement as a history teacher and school superintendent. He has written four books about the Packers.  His “Why We Love the Packers!” program is a fast-paced look at the team’s history from Lambeau to McCarthy through photographs of Rice’s sports cards and his other Packer memorabilia. The Friends of the Fox Lake Public Library will be furnishing refreshments at this event.
