Pair of crashes hampers northbound traffic in Fond du Lac County

A pair of crashes hampered traffic Friday afternoon, October 2, 2026, for those heading north for the weekend on I-41.

At about 1:43 p.m. a report of a three car crash came into the Fond du Lac County Communications Center on the northbound side of 41 near Lone Elm. No injuries were reported, however, one of the two lanes was blocked with a vehicle.

While traffic backed up from this crash, another crash occurred a mile south of the first one near Lincoln Road.

No injuries were reported in that crash either, but it added to the congestion already in place from the previous crash.

Traffic was backed up for miles as vehicles slowly traversed their way through the debris and emergency vehicles.

All vehicles were cleared and lanes opened back up by 2:30.
