Pair of fatal crashes Saturday night in surrounding counties

A pair of fatal crashes occurred in surrounding counties Saturday night.

Just after 8 PM, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a single motorcycle crash on State Highway 67 north of Woodchuck Lane, just north of the City of Plymouth.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a single occupant motorcycle was southbound on State Highway 67 and failed to negotiate a curve. The driver, a 48-year-old man from Sheboygan, was declared deceased on scene.

Then in Winnebago County, Town of Oshkosh Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance as well as Winnebago Sheriff’s Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover crash on 45 about a mile north of Highway 41.

Upon arrival, an officer stated it looked like the driver could have been ejected, though there were no signs of them in the surrounding area. The vehicle came to rest in a muddy area, partially submerged in water, and after a tow truck was able to remove the vehicle, they found the driver deceased in the vehicle.

Based upon preliminary information, it appears the van was traveling northbound on Highway 45 at a high rate of speed before entering the ditch and rolling.

Highway 45 was closed for approximately two and a half hours while crews worked the scene
