Park Avenue Neighborhood Busy With Police And Rescue Calls Friday Afternoon

The intersections of Park Avenue and Rees Street and Ledgeview Avenue were swarming with police and fire/rescue units Friday afternoon, causing travelers and neighbors to wonder what big event must be going on.

In reality, it was a combination of 3 different calls, all in the same area coincidentally at the same time. Initial police presence was in the area as City of Fond du Lac Police were executing a search warrant at 202 east Rees Street at the corner of Park and Rees.

As officers made their way into the suspects apartment, they discovered a man actively overdosing, so rescue was paged for him.

At the same time, a call came in for an unresponsive person just 300 yards away from the first rescue call near the corner of Park and Ledgeview Avenue.

In total, 5 marked City of Fond du Lac Police cruisers as well as detectives units, 2 ambulance units and 2 fire trucks were responding in the area, all while a man was being escorted to a cruiser in handcuffs.

A break down of the events reveals the search warrant was part of an ongoing burglary investigation stemming from a March 16th incident in the southeast part of the city.

The man arrested and brought out in handcuffs was a 38-year-old Allenton man. The man overdosing was a 54-year-old Allenton man, and the ledgeview call resulted in the death of a woman that lived at the Ledgeview address.

According to the Fond du Lac Police Department, both men are being held on drug charges and investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
