Passing cold front sparks off strong storms Tuesday afternoon

A quick hit of strong to severe thunderstorms passed through the area Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2026, as a cold front moved over.

Tornado warnings were issued for Green Lake and Dodge County as well as severe thunderstorm warnings.

Fond du Lac County had several severe thunderstorm warnings issued for multiple different storms passing through.

Officially, two severe reports were reported in Fond du Lac County. They were for one inch hail just to the south southeast of the City of Fond du Lac, and for a tree that was blown down east of Fond du Lac blocking Golf Course Drive in the town of Taycheedah.

Officially at the Fond du Lac County Airport, 1 1/3 inches of rain fell with the storms, which came in a fairly short time period, causing some localized street flooding in the City of Fond du Lac.

Farther to our southeast, the Waukesha and Milwaukee County areas sustained more widespread damage with mostly wind damage being reported in the form of trees being knocked down.
