Person and dog found deceased in Sheboygan house fire

Authorities in the City of Sheboygan are investigating what caused a house fire there Monday, May 11, 2026, that killed a resident and dog.

Just after midnight, a passerby called in that smoke was seen coming from the roof line of a house at 1408 Pershing Avenue.

Upon arrival crews were faced with a structure fire in what they described as a “hoarding condition” environment.

An initial sweep of the house found the deceased individual and the dog, while other crews tended to the fire.
