Pets Shouldn’t Be Left In Hot Weather Conditions

If the heat is tough on you, it’s also going to be tough on your pet. Fond du Lac Humane Society Shelter Manager Renee Webb says dogs can’t sweat they do it by panting and need to get out of the heat and plenty of fresh cold water. She says temperatures are magnified in a vehicle so don’t leave your dog in a car even when the windows are cracked open. She says they do get calls about people leaving their pets in hot cars and they are reported to police. Webb also says to keep in mind that the pads on your dog’s paws are sensitive to heat so they shouldn’t be walked across or left on a hot concreted sidewalk or road.
