PHOTOS: Group protests Fond du Lac Police Department’s investigation into infant death
About two dozen people holding signs and chanting “Justice for Meliky” and “No Justice, No Peace” gathered on north Main Street in Fond du Lac Thursday afternoon to protest the way they feel the Fond du Lac Police have handled a death investigation of one of the protesters two-year-old children who passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Maplewood commons.
Overall the group stayed behaved though police had to be called for a couple instances. First when they disrupted traffic at the intersection of Main and Johnson and then again after becoming unruly outside a business in the 200 block of north Main Street. Fond du Lac Police shut down traffic in the 200 block of north Main while protesters occupied the area.
KFIZ is working on a story with interviews from both police and those directly involved with the child. We will likely have this story up Friday.
