Fond du Lac Police responded to a domestic situation where the male involved barricaded himself in the house with a gas can.

The Fond du Lac Fire Department was placed on standby as police surrounded the house.

After attempts to call the man on a phone failed, he self inflicted a knife wound to his throat and set the house on fire.

While the house was burning, he briefly came out and came face to face with officers who had him at gunpoint while he returned explicit finger gestures to the officers. At this time the suspect had a large amount of blood on him from the wound to his neck. After about 30 seconds, he ran back into the house which was well involved in fire.

A short time later he re exited the house and was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for his injuries.

The 31-year-old-suspect is facing multiple charges and will be transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail after being medically cleared.
