PHOTOS: Tractor fire closes Highway 67 in Sheboygan County

At 6:18 p.m., the Greenbush Fire Department was paged to a fully engulfed tractor on fire on State Highway 67 south of Forest Drive in western Sheboygan County.

Upon arrival, crews found the large piece of equipment on fire with a large plume of black smoke that could be seen for miles.

In addition to the fire, a trail of diesel fuel was on the road about a 1/4 mile long to the west of the scene.

KFIZ News Director Doug Raflik was on scene and stated it looked like the tractor was eastbound on 67 and started leaking fuel at County Highway U. As the machinery continued east, it looked to have started on fire farther up the road.

The tractor operator was able to safely evacuate the tractor.

Highway 67 was closed while the scene was active.
