PHOTOS: Two vehicle crash seriously injures one on 151 at Golf Course Road

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at approximately 1:23 PM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received multiple reports of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 151 near Golf Course Road in the Township of Taycheedah.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Assisting agencies included the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue, Fond du Lac Ambulance, Mount Calvary Fire Department, Mount Calvary Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, Theda’s helicopter, and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a northbound passenger car on Highway 151 was attempting to turn left onto Golf Course Road to travel westbound. The driver had stopped in the roadway to yield to oncoming southbound traffic. While the vehicle was stopped in the intersection, it was struck from behind by a northbound pickup truck that failed to slow down.

The passenger car was occupied solely by the driver, a 20-year-old female from Fond du Lac. She was trapped in the vehicle and required extrication by fire personnel. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transported by helicopter to Theda Medical Center.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 38-year-old male from New Holstein, was not injured in the crash.

Inattentive driving is believed to be a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Highway 151 was closed for several hours due to the crash and reconstruction.
