Plymouth High School presents it’s annual musical

Plymouth High School will be presenting the award-winning “Legally Blonde” as its annual musical March 6-9.

“Legally Blonde the Musical,” based on the movie of the same name, tells the story of Elle Woods, who initially appears to have it all but then finds her life turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law.

Determined to get him back, Elle charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors, and her ex. However, with the support of some new friends, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances, the show features a large ensemble and several big song-and-dance numbers. More than 60 students and 14 adults are involved in the PHS production, which is double-cast to allow more students a chance to be on stage.

“Unlike other PHS shows, the audience should be advised that this musical is rated PG-13 due to some adult language and themes throughout,” said musical director Amanda Smith. “That being said, the overarching themes of positivity and self-empowerment radiate through this show.”

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. nightly from Thursday March 6 through Saturday March 8, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday March 9, in the school auditorium, 125 S. Highland Ave. Reserved-seating tickets are $10 and are available from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the PHS office (enter Door 1G); any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
