Police investigate gunshot wound to head in Calumet County

At 9:07 PM on December 25, 2025, Calumet County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the Hilbert Acres Mobile Home Community for a report of a 25-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head.

She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Deputies interviewed and released a man in connection to the shooting. He is cooperating with investigators.

This remains an active investigation and there have been no arrests. Names of those involved will not be released at this time. Police say there is no danger to the community.
