Police memorial ceremony and Cop On A Rooftop this week

Area law enforcement will be taking part in two events this week that the public is welcome to attend. The first is the Police Memorial Ceremony which takes place Thursday at 1 PM in Hamilton Park.

Officers killed in the line of duty in Fond du Lac County as well as all officers killed in the line of duty, will be honored in this annual ceremony. Local officials will speak, and family members of those fallen officers will be in attendance to place a flower on the police memorial monument in the park.

And on Friday, law enforcement officers will be involved in the 13th annual cop on a rooftop at Dunkin Donuts on west Johnson Street in Fond du Lac.

The event, which raises money for Special Olympics Wisconsin, starts at 6 AM and goes through noon. Anybody donating to the cause gets a coupon for an iced coffee or donut.
