Post office releases “send by” dates to ensure holiday delivery

Procrastinators be advised… The Post office has announced its recommended mailing and shipping dates for holiday mail that will ensure mail will get to its desired destination before Christmas.

For destinations in the continental US, First-Class Mail should be sent by Dec. 18 with Priority Mail by Dec. 19 and Priority Mail Express service by Dec. 21.

For customers sending packages internationally, or to military addresses, the post office suggests checking their complete list of recommended holiday mailing and shipping dates at the website
usps.com/holidayshippingdates.

While sending by these dates is likely to get packages and mail delivered on time, the post office urges customers to plan ahead and ship early during the holiday season.
