Presidential candidates pass through area, causing exciting stir for voters
The excitement around the two presidential candidates coming to the area has come and gone.
Both visits, as expected, caused quite a stir in the areas where the visits took place with secret service dictating traffic flow and closing roads around the areas.
Kamala Harris was in Ripon at Ripon College on Thursday, October 3, 2024, to an invite only crowd of about 500 people, where she emphasized the January 6th, 2020 unrest at the nations capitol where Trump refused to recognize the win of Joe Biden as president.
Trump was at the Dodge County airport in Juneau Sunday, October 6, 2024, where despite competing against a Green Bay Packer game, drew in thousands of people, where the crowd overflowed the seating area and spilled out on the tarmac.
Trump pushed that Wisconsin was likely the hardest of the swing states for him to win and that a win in Wisconsin would likely mean a win for him as president.
Trump was the only republican to win Wisconsin in the last 40 years by beating Hillary Clinton in 2016 by 23,000 votes, but then lost to Biden in 2020 by 21,000 votes.
This was Trumps 4th visit to Wisconsin in 8 days while Harris has also made several campaign visits to Wisconsin since she launched her White House run in July.
