Primary Turnout Light In Fond du Lac County
Primary elections in February are not usually high voter turnout events, but Tuesday’s primary in Fond du Lac County was less than ideal.
Voters in the Town of Fond du Lac, Town of Eldorado and Town of Lamartine were sparse, with Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg, telling KFIZ News that, as of 3 p.m. Tuesday, there were only 6 votes cast in the Town of Lamartine.
The North Fond du Lac School Board race saw Jonathan Goeckerman, Terry Jaeger, Samantha Kolitz, Richard Mathy, Tera McCarthy and Shannon Zupke all move on to the April 5th election. The 6 candidates will square off for the 3 open seats.
A total of 626 votes were cast in the School Board race, with Goeckerman(312), Mathy(286) and Jaeger(284) finishing as the top vote-getters.
In Ripon, two candidates are moving on in the District 4 alderman race.
Douglas Iverson and Mike Boscaljon advance, with the winner in the April 5th election securing a seat on the Ripon City Council. A total of 90 votes were cast in Ripon.
