Produce Likely To Increase In Price After Flooding Rains

As if grocery prices are not already high enough, produce buyers are going to see more increases in prices due to severe flooding in California after a slew of winter storms
affected the state, dumping a deluge of rain, flooding fields last month.

Not only did the flooding delay planting of crops, but experts say if crops get too much water, it will affect how they grow, causing them to be less productive.

The time frame and the price increase will vary per crop.

Experts say some produce will be affected in just a couple of weeks while some items may not go up until late spring.

Experts believe this will be a short term increase with prices dropping after a couple weeks of being increased.
