Public Input To Be Sought On How To Spend Funds

The City of Fond du Lac will soon be looking for the public’s input on how best to use over 13-million dollars in American Rescue Plan funding from the U.S. Treasury Department.

City Manager Joe Moore tells KFIZ News the City Council spent some time discussing what different areas that money can be used for at its meeting last week, and soon it will be time for the public to weigh in.

“What we’ll be doing is publishing a survey online, on our website, that will ask people for their own input. We’ll give some background on that website so that people don’t feel like they wished they knew some of the rules from the Department of Treasury, so that they make informed suggestions.”

The City of Fond du Lac will receive a total of $13.8 million dollars in funding from Treasury Department, with half of it already received in May of this year and the other half coming in May of 2022.

The public survey will go live on the city’s website later this month.
