Public involvement meeting Monday for US 45 improvements in Fond du Lac County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is sending a reminder for a live, online public involvement meeting at 5 p.m., Monday, May 18, to discuss proposed improvements on 14.46 miles of US 45 from the South County Line on the south side of the Milwaukee River Bridge to Elm Street in the village of Eden, Fond Du Lac County.

The meeting will be held via Teams and accessed through the new US 45 design website below.

The purpose of this meeting is to review proposed project scope, schedule, and anticipated traffic impacts, and solicit comments and feedback on the proposed highway and safety improvements. A question-and-answer period will follow the live presentation. To join the live meeting:

This project is needed to extend the service life of the roadway and implement targeted safety improvements. This is a resurfacing-level improvement that includes widening paved shoulders, adding high friction surface treatment to curve north of County F, adding centerline rumble strips, and structure maintenance. Construction is scheduled for 2031 but could be advanced to 2030. A full closure of US 45 is proposed during construction.
