Public involvement meeting scheduled for Highway 23 and Esterbrook Road project
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced a live, online public involvement meeting to show proposed intersection improvements to Highway 23 and Easterbrook Road just west of the city of Fond du Lac.
Viewers will access the live, online meeting via a Teams link on the projects design website.
The purpose of this meeting is to review proposed improvements and solicit comments and feedback on the proposed improvements.
The meeting will take place at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 21.
The DOT says this is an intersection safety improvement project with a single-lane roundabout being proposed. The project aims to provide acceptable traffic operation and reduce the number and severity of crashes at the intersection.
The intersection has had multiple injury crashes with one fatality over the last 10 years. Contributing factors to the current crash trends include high speeds and the failure to find adequate gaps when entering the intersection from Esterbrook Road.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2029 with a full highway closure and detour of Highway 23 during construction.
