Public involvement meeting set to discuss road work in City of Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac County and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation have announced they will be holding a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the County Highway V/Renzie Road bridge over the DeNeveu Creek on the east side of Fond du Lac.

The proposed project includes replacing the existing bridge, which is said to be structurally deficient, with a new hydraulically sized structure, including a small amount of roadway approach work on both sides of the structure. The replacement bridge would be a single span, prestressed concrete girder bridge.

The existing bridge was built in 1967.

Construction of the new bridge is set to start sometime in 2026 with County Highway V/Renzie Road being closed to through traffic between National Ave and Brookfield Boulevard during the project. Local access to driveways in the closed road area will be allowed during construction based on the contractors operations.

Those interested in the meeting should plan to attend from 5-6 PM on Thursday, July 18th at the Fond du Lac County Highway Department at 1820 south Hickory Street.
Representatives from Fond du Lac County and the design consultants Gremmer and Associates will be on hand to discuss the project and take questions and concerns from the public.
