Pursuit through three counties nets two in custody after speeds reach 135 mph

Two people are in custody after a high speed pursuit Wednesday, February 11, 2026, that spanned 25 miles and three different counties.

On February 11, 2026, members of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Fond du Lac Police Department were working collaboratively to locate a fugitive with multiple felony warrants. This fugitive was also known to be armed and dangerous.

During the course of this operation, the fugitive was observed entering a vehicle within the City of Fond du Lac. Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 41 and County Highway Y. The vehicle initially slowed but then fled at a high rate of speed.

With speeds reaching 135 mph, the driver continued southbound passing through Dodge County and entering Washington County.

Law enforcement in Washington County successfully deployed two sets of tire deflation devices in two different locations effectively deflating multiple tires on the vehicle.

The driver exited at Highway 60 in southern Washington County and lost control entering the ditch. At that time, both the driver and passenger were detained during a felony traffic stop.

A firearm was located on the ground outside of the suspect vehicle following the arrests. A magazine and ammunition were also recovered from inside the vehicle.

The name of the driver wasn’t officially released but KFIZ obtained access to the name with court records showing a lengthy criminal history of the 45-year-old man police were after with many of the charges related to possession of drugs with intent to deliver.

The joint investigation between the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office continued into the evening and resulted in the seizure of an additional firearm, nearly one-half pound of crack cocaine, and over four ounces of fentanyl.

The vehicle operator, who was on active supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on additional felony charges. The fugitive passenger was also booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple felony charges, including three counts of felony bail jumping, as the individual was out on bond in three separate Milwaukee County cases.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was further assisted during this incident by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol. No injuries were reported. Two vehicles sustained punctured tires as a result of the tire deflation devices.
