Race The Lake Bike Event This Sunday, August 18th

The annual bike event, Race The Lake takes place this Sunday.

The race, which is in it’s 16th year, is an 88-mile race around Lake Winnebago, attended by all abilities from professionals to beginning cyclists.

The event starts and ends in Lakeside Park as participants have a staggered start to avoid all the bikes leaving at once. The first group leaves at 5:45 AM with the course closing at 2:30 PM.

Cyclists will go north up the west side of the lake and come back south down the east side, passing through Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, Appleton, High Cliff State Park, Calumetville, Marytown, and St. Peter.

The course will be open to traffic as normal with some intersections being controlled by law enforcement. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving the course.
