Race the Lake bike race takes place Sunday, August 16

The annual bike event, race the lake takes place Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The race, which is in it’s 19th year, is an 89-mile race around Lake Winnebago, attended by all abilities from professionals to beginning cyclists.

The event starts and ends in Lakeside Park as participants have a staggered start to avoid all the bikes leaving at once.

The first group leaves at 5:45 AM with the course closing at 2:30 PM.

Cyclists will stay on the east side of the lake this year due to tornado damage in the Neenah Menasha area.

The course will be open to traffic as normal with some intersections being controlled by law enforcement or volunteers. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving the course
