Retail theft suspects draw heavy police response to Kohls in Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac County law enforcement took four people into custody Tuesday night, January 28, 2025, that are suspected in a shoplifting spree at local Kohls department stores.
At 5:34 PM the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office alerted area departments that two Hispanic men were involved in a retail theft at the Kohls in Neenah and the same men were also involved in a retail theft earlier in Darboy.
At 6:06 PM a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy was alerted that a group matching the descriptions of the prior thefts had just entered the City of Fond du Lac Kohls. Law enforcement quickly headed to the store where they encountered four people leaving the store. One was taken into custody right away while one fought with law enforcement. One of the suspects was hit with a taser deployment and two ran back into the store and out the back exit. They were later caught a short distance away from Kohls.
After investigating and consulting with Winnebago and Outagamie Counties, only the two men were held while the other two were let go. No official press release has been issued on the incident. KFIZ will update this story if and when a release comes out by either department involved.
