Ripon Bridge Repairs Could Come From TID Increments
The Ripon Common Council is considering amending Tax Incremental District 12 to include two bridges that need repairs or replacement. Both the Jackson Street ant Tygert Street bridges are located with within a half mile of the TID. City Administrator Lori Rich says it will cost close to $500,000 to repair the Jackson Street bridge ($120,000) and replace the Tygert Street bridge ($350,000). She says if the Council decides to amend the TID to include the bridges they would probably have to hold off on one of the four street projects also planned for the district. She says those projects were on Jackson, Hall, Lyon and Shephard Streets. Rich says the Common Council this week did authorize starting the repairs on the Jackson Street bridge because it was a more immediate need.
