Ripon Cancels “Cookie Daze” Event
Ripon’s annual “Cookie Daze” event is the latest event to
be canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The Ripon Chamber of Commerce said in a press release
issued Monday that “based on the high degree of uncertainty about what the
coming months will hold; and after consulting with health officials and local
community groups; and in the best interest of the general public, our
volunteers, vendors, and the non-profit groups that are involved, we have made
the difficult decision to cancel the event.”
This year was set to be the 25th year of the
event, and was set to be held on August 1st. Chamber officials are
asking people to continue to support local businesses and non-profits in the
months ahead – and that they are continue to discuss the event moving forward.
