Ripon Woman Found Guilty Of First Degree Reckless Homicide In Overdose Death

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced Friday, June 23, 2023, that Carla Czysz-Endeward has been convicted of First Degree Reckless Homicide as a Party to a Crime, four counts of Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, three counts of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud for her part in a 2020 incident that took place in the city of Ripon.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 5th of 2020, 4 people were reported of overdosing at a Ripon residence with 1 ultimately dying.

A jury convicted Endeward for assisting in the setting up of drug deals, through phone calls, and allowing others to use drugs and overdose in her residence.

District Attorney Toney said in a statement, “We will continue to aggressively prosecute those that pedal poison in our community and those that aid them.”

A Pre-Sentence Investigation Report was ordered and the sentencing hearing will be set at a later date.

Endeward faces over 40 years of imprisonment and is currently incarcerated at Taycheedah Correctional.
