River Rescue

Fond du Lac firefighters rescued a 36-year-old homeless man from the Fond du Lac River Wednesday evening. A call came in just before 9 p.m. about a man standing next to a wall in the river asking for help. He was in the river near Forest Avenue. The man told authorities he had fallen in and couldn’t get out. Firefighters used a rescue boat to get him out. He was cold and wet, but not injured. He told police he had been in the water for about three hours.
