***UPDATE – SUSPECT CAUGHT*** Robbery reported at 18 Hands Ale Haus Thursday night

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a robbery at a local business Thursday night, May 9, 2024.

Just after 10 PM an employee at 18 Hands Ale Haus called the Fond du Lac County Communications Center advising a man just robbed them of cash from the cash register and left on foot.

Police immediately scoured the area for the man described as black with dark clothes wearing a hood or winter style hat.

According to a post by the business’s owner on Facebook, the man also attempted to sexually assault the female bartender working at the time, but she was able to get away from the man.

Security video, which was able to capture the mans face, was obtained by police.

At approximately 6:18 a.m. Fond du Lac Police received a call from a passerby that the suspect was potentially in the area of the 600 – 700 block of W. Johnson Street.   Officers flooded the area and took the suspect into custody without incident.  The 55-year-old suspect is facing multiple charges including robbery and bail jumping and was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
