Rollover Accident Sends Two To Hospital With Serious Injuries

Speed and alcohol appear to be the causes behind a single-vehicle rollover accident Saturday evening. FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies were called at 9:15 p.m. for reports of a crash with injuries on Double D Rd., near Lake Dr., in the Town of Auburn.
A preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was headed south on Double D Rd., but failed to negotiate a curve and ended up in the ditch. The vehicle struck a power pole before coming to rest on its roof. Witnesses also said the vehicle was initially on fire after the crash, but the fire was extinguished thanks to the quick actions of a passing motorist. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year old female from Oshkosh, sustained serious injuries. She was transported to St. Agnes hospital by Campbellsport EMS, and then airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center via ThedaStar Air Medical Helicopter.
The passenger, a 31-year male from Campbellsport, also sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to St. Agnes Hospital, but no further details were given in regards to his injuries. Neither of the occupants in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Assistance at the scene was provided by the Village of Campbellsport PD, Campbellsport Fire Department and Wisconsin DNR Wardens.
