Rollover Caused By Driver Asleep At Wheel

A
driver who fell asleep at the wheel appears to be the cause of a two vehicle
accident Tuesday afternoon. Crews were called out just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday
for a report of a roll-over accident near N. Hickory St. and W. Scott St. The
18-year old driver of one vehicle appeared to have fallen asleep while driving
northbound on Hickory,
sideswiping an unoccupied vehicle, and then striking another vehicle eastbound
on Scott St.,
causing that vehicle to flip over. The driver of that vehicle, a 50-year old
male, we trapped in the vehicle for a short time until crews were able to
remove him. There was no update on injuries as of this morning. The driver that
