Rosendale Schools Placed On Hold While Police Search For Man That Ran From Police

Rosendale intermediate and Laconia High School went into a hold in place yesterday, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, just as school was to be released for the day because law enforcement was searching for
a man that ran from police in the area.

Around 3 PM a Rosendale Police officer attempted to make contact with a known individual suspected in a damage to property case, but the man took off running. The officer chased the man into a wooded area in between both schools, near the high school football field.

Multiple officers responded to set up a perimeter and continue to search for the man. In the process, the decision was made to have the schools hold students while police searched the area.

About 15 minutes after the man initially ran, he was seen running on Center Road and he was taken into custody and the schools were notified students could be released.
