Girls Volleyball:
St. Mary’s Springs won the Milwaukee Pius Invite, going 4-0 at the tournament. The Ledgers defeated New Berlin West (21-25, 26-24, 18-16), Milwaukee Lutheran (25-13, 25-18), Pius XI (25-15, 25-22) and Whitefish Bay Dominican (17-25, 25-23, 17-15). Brianna Freund tallied 26 kills, Rachel Petersen had 43 assists and Katie Baker 28 digs for Springs on the day. Isabelle Coon added 13 service aces for the Ledgers.
Winnebago Lutheran went 2-3 at the Fox Valley Lutheran Invite, defeating Menasha (25-20, 25-16) and New London (25-21, 25-13) and losing to Fox Valley Lutheran (25-5, 25-16), New Holstein (25-16, 25-7) and Iola-Scandinavia (25-23, 27-25). Alyssa Lorenz had 15 kills on the day, Luci Baus had 21 assists and Shania Shea had 10 digs for WLA.
Lomira went 4-1 at the Ozaukee Invite – with wins over North Fond du Lac (25-13, 25-22), Sheboygan Christian (25-20, 25-15), Ozaukee (16-25, 25-19, 15-12) and Milwaukee Reagan (19-25, 25-14, 25-11) and lost to Kenosha St. Joe’s (25-27, 13-25).
Waupun went 1-4 at their home invite, defeating Madison LaFollette (25-15, 25-15) and losing to Appleton West (25-13, 25-22), Brillion (25-17, 11-25, 8-15) Chippewa Falls (23-25, 13-25) and Randolph (12-25, 20-25)
Central Wisconsin Christian went 2-2 at the Mayville Tournament, defeating Mayville (25-19, 25-22) and Rio (25-6, 24-26, 15-8) and losing to Elkhorn (27-25, 25-16) and Wautoma (25-14, 22-25, 13-15). Melissa Van Den Berg totaled 21 kills for the Crusaders, Claire Jansen had 25 digs and Marissa Jansma had 54 assists.
Boys Soccer:
Fond du Lac went 1-0-1 at the D.C. Everest Tournament this weekend, defeating the host Evergreens on Friday night 2-0 and playing to a 1-1 draw with Waunakee on Saturday.
Winnebago Lutheran won the Kiel Tournament on Saturday, defeating Kewaskum 3-0, playing to a 0-0 tie with Manitowoc Lincoln, but advancing on a penalty kick shootout to the championship game, where they defeated Manitowoc Roncalli 2-0.
At the same Kiel Tournament on Saturday, New Holstein went 1-2 on the day, losing to Manitowoc Lincoln 5-0 and Kewaskum 3-1 and defeating Ozaukee 3-0 to end the day.
Cross Country:
The North Fond du Lac/Oakfield boys cross country team placed sixth at the Hilltopper Invite hosted by St. Lawrence Seminary Saturday. Diego Charbonneau placed fifth individually with a time of 18:34. Xavier Lasee was 14th for North Fondy/Oakfield with a time of 18:53. St. Mary’s Springs placed ninth at the invite, with Isaac Shannon taking second place individually with a time of 18:15.
St. Lawrence Seminary was 14th – Nick Rodriguez placed 69th (21:44) to lead St. Lawrence, while Winnebago Lutheran placed 15th – Carter Gulig placed 79th for the Vikings (22:07).
For the girls side at the Hilltopper Invite – North Fondy/Oakfield placed 12th, with Emma Maravilla placing 43rd individually (26:16). St. Mary’s Springs placed 13th at the Hilltopper with Lizzie Guerrin placing 17th individually to pace the Ledgers (24:18). Winnebago Lutheran’s Elle Teske placed 8th as an individual with a time of 23:12.
