Scams Golden Oldies

An administrator with the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says when it comes to scams they have their own version of “Golden Oldies.” That includes get rich quick schemes, tech support, government imposters, and Medicare scams are all on that list. Frank Frassetto says there is a kind of golden rule. If you get something unsolicited or out of the blue and it makes some sort of pitch and has a sense of urgency, you should definitely think twice before investing your time, money or personal information. Frassetto also cautions that they continually get complaints about scams involving overdue utility payments.
