Schabusiness found competent to stand trial in attack of prison guard

Taylor Schabusiness, The woman convicted of the February 2022 murder and dismemberment of a Green Bay man, has been found competent to stand trial in another case in Fond du Lac County, where she attacked a guard at Taycheedah Correctional, where she is serving a life sentence.

The new charge of Battery by Prisoner stems from her attack of the guard on July 24th of 2024 after being seen by a nurse at the facility. Schabusiness attacked the nurse during the exam and then swung a metal tray at the guard who stepped in to allow the nurse to get away.

Earlier this month, Schabusiness’s attorney filed for a Competency Examination in the case to which a doctor found Schabusiness showed psychiatric and behavioral stablity.

Schabusiness returns to court April 4th for a preliminary hearing.
