School Resource Officer pleads not guilty to relationship with student

A former Kewaskum school resource officer pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at the Kewaskum High School.

Steven Rosales is facing three felonies in Washington County, including sexual misconduct by school staff .

Prosecutors say Rosales and a Kewaskum high schooler exchanged explicit photos and thousands of texts.

While investigating the case, police found conversations on Rosales’ phone, and then later got an admission from Rosales, that prompted bestiality charges to be filed against him in Fond du Lac County. A hearing in that case is scheduled for next Friday.

Rosales’s next court appearance for the inappropriate relationship with a student charge is July 8th.
