Second Fond du Lac County pursuit in 8 hours nets wanted man in City of Fond du Lac

A Fond du Lac man is in custody overnight after evading police three separate times.

The first occurred at 12:10 a.m. near 9th and Ellis when a City of Fond du Lac Police Officer attempted to pull the driver over for an equipment violation. The driver failed to pull over and a short pursuit resulted, going north on Marr. The city officer terminated the pursuit for safety reasons but continued to track the vehicle which went east on Merrill Avenue.

On Merrill, another city officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver again failed to yield, continuing east on Merrill.

At 12:17, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy in the area spotted the vehicle turn into an apartment complex parking lot on National Avenue. The deputy activated their lights and siren and the driver again took off, heading south on National at speeds of around 50 miles per hour.

The driver turned west on 4th Street where an officer was set up with a tire deflation device near Fond du Lac Avenue.

After striking the device with two tires, the driver turned north on Ellis, East on 1st and south on Park where the vehicle became disabled. At that time, the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle was captured in the 200 block of east 1st Street.

Investigation into the driver found the 45-year-old had 4 active warrants out for his arrest. He is also being charged with two counts of Fleeing/Eluding law enforcement.
