September is Suicide Prevention month – Fond du Lac Police report suicides are up in 2025
September is suicide prevention month and the City of Fond du Lac Police are reporting that suicides are up in 2025 with 17 reported so far this year, compared to a total of 13 in 2024.
A breakdown on their social media shows 10 of those were a result of gunshots. Seven were hangings, two were carbon monoxide poisoning and one each knife and drug overdose.
The department says we can no longer stand on the sidelines as each of us has a vital role to play in changing lives.
The department suggests doing this by Reaching out to the people in your life — asking questions, listening without judgment, and offering support.
