Serious Crash In Fond du Lac Injures At Least Three

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a serious crash Wednesday morning, April 12, 2023 on Scott Street near Roosevelt Street.

Witnesses on scene told KFIZ that a blue vehicle was traveling east on Scott Street at excessive speeds and struck a pick-up truck that was parked on the street.

The pick-up was pushed up on to a lawn where it came to rest against another vehicle.

Car parts and gasoline were spread all over the street.

The blue car continued another 150 feet where it came to rest in the intersection of Scott and Roosevelt Street.

As Fond du Lac Police Officers were investigating this accident another crash was reported to be at the intersection of Scott Street and North Main Street. Officers determined that both accident locations were related. The suspect vehicle driven by a 33-year-old North Fond du Lac resident struck a vehicle in the area of Scott St./Main St. continued eastbound for approximately a half-mile and crashed into a parked pick-up truck pushing it into the path of another vehicle causing a 3rd crash in the area of E. Scott St/Roosevelt St.

KFIZ news director Doug Raflik was on scene and said it appeared three people were injured and transported by ambulance form the scene.

Speed and impairment appear to be factors in the accidents.  The 33-year-old suspect was assessed by a Fond du Lac Police Department Drug Recognition Expert Officer and arrested for operating while impaired with a minor 1st offense and several other traffic violations.
